Live!!!! Timberline at the Granny Chicks Opera in Neosho, Missouri

What is a Timberline? What is a Granny Chick? What is a  Neosho? Legitimate questions, all. Timberline is the bluegrass band that Banjophil performs in. Neosho is a town in Missouri named after (Surprise!) a tribe of Native Americans of the same name. Granny Chicks? Well, they are the group that owns and operates the Granny Chicks Opera, what else?

This CD was recorded in front of a live audience, so all the enthusiasm, all the humor, and all the crowd responses are included. You'll feel like you're really there as Junior, Jean, and Banjophil sing and pick their way into the hearts of the audience. Banjophil really gets on a roll with some of his best jokes from his joke book, so be prepared to laugh as you listen to this one!

I'll list the songs, but the enjoyment factor of this CD far transcends any mere song list. Believe me, if you love good music and great jokes, this is the CD for you! It's nearly an hour of fine music and hilarious, fast-paced entertainment.

                                                                The Songs on the CD

Cripple Creek...A standard banjo tune made famous by Roy Clark and Buck Owens on the old Hee-Haw show.

Katy Daly...A fast-paced bluegrass vocal about trying to sell an adult beverage during Prohibition.

Will You Miss Me?...We slow it down with this death-and-dying bluegrass standard.

Steel Rails...Jean does her version of Allison Krause's first big hit.

Yard Sale...This upbeat bluegrass song is not done by many groups, but it's a goodern.

Stairway to Heaven...No, not the rock and roll tune. The bluegrass Gospel tune.

Rooster Song...A hilarious folk song that is always an audience pleaser.

Bacon and Eggs...Banjophil sings this parody of Tammy Wynette's big hit, "D-I-V-O-R-C-E."

Ragtime Annie...Junior gets the ole fiddle out for this one.

Milk Cow Blues...Yep. It's the Bob Wills dance song that has that good old Western Swing beat.

Unclouded Day...Banjophil actually gets serious long enough to sing this Gospel song.

Little Georgia Rose...A Bill Monroe song that is often heard on the festival circuit.

Auctioneer Song... Junior does a bang-up job on this famous country song. I'm not sure if he sold the hog or not.

Climb That Mountain...Jean is back to sing another Allison Krause song.

Y'all Come...Banjophil gets to wind up the evening with this old stand-by.
