Dubious Bros CD

   Dubious Brothers Live

Have you been looking for a little something to put some pizzazz into your life? Well, Banjophil has the answer... It's a live CD of The Dubious Brothers. The group consisted of Banjophil, his crazy brother Stan , and long-time friend Joe Bob Pierce. They performed as a group for three summers at Silver Dollar City, a theme park near Branson, Missouri. The CD was recorded as the Dubious Brothers entertained at the campus of Southwest Baptist University. You will never regret letting go of a measly little $12.00 for a CD with this much entertainment value.  To arrange for your very own copy, email Banjophil at banjophil@gmail.com .

This CD has 19 songs, ranging from the light-hearted to hard-driving bluegrass. Sandwiched between the songs are a truckload of jokes, stories, and humorous antics. After all, this was a live performance. Banjophil's daughter Emily says that this is her favorite CD in the whole universe.

Here is a list of the songs on the CD.

"Dear Old Dixie"...We kicked off the evening's entertainment with a fast banjo tune.

"I Wish You Knew"...One of Jim and Jesse's finest songs.

"You Ain't Going Nowhere"...This is a Bob Dylan song, done bluegrass style.

"Devil's Dream"...Time for another instrumental!

"Dark Hollow"...A classic bluegrass song.

"Rocky Top"...Okay. Who hasn't heard of this one?

"Dixie Breakdown"...This is a fast banjo instrumental with a lot of good ole bass slappin'.

"I Don't Believe You've Met My Baby"... The words of this Louvin Brothers song are quite unique.

"Mandolin Instrumental"...We never could remember the name of this tune, but we liked it, so we included it in the concert.

"Rattlesnake Bit The Baby"...Yes, there really is a song by this name. We added words to create quite a silly song.

"All My Trials, Lord"...We had to slow it down after that last song, so we added this religious folk song.

"Salt Creek"...A bluegrass instrumental featuring the flat-picking of brother Stan.

"Roll In My Sweet Baby's Arms"...It doesn't get more bluegrassy than this song! Of course, we played with it a bit, much to the delight of the audience.

"Fox On The Run"...This is a great bluegrass song. We give it a unique twist for comedic effect.

"Black Mountain Rag"...Another fine instrumental.

"What Am I Doing Hangin' Round?"...We learned this one from the Seldom Scene. Wait until you hear the ending!

"Tom Dooley"...I know. This is not a bluegrass song, but it is fun to do, especially the way we spiced it up.

"Wipe Out"...Yep, we included this classic rock instrumental. The banjo plays the lead part, while the drum part is covered by Joe Bob's amazing bass slappin'.

"Sludge Sodie"...We got an encore, so we threw this little parody comedy tune in the mix.
